Morocco Unveils Strategy to Attract Investment from Expatriates

The government is pulling out all the stops to attract investments from Moroccans living abroad (MRE). This is what Karim Zidane, the minister delegate in charge of Investment, said during a question-and-answer session in the House of Representatives. In front of the deputies, he detailed the strategy put in place to encourage Moroccans around the world to invest their capital in the kingdom.
The first part of this plan is based on enhanced communication. The objective: to better inform Moroccans living abroad of investment opportunities and the tax advantages offered by the new Charter. "We are in constant contact with thousands of Moroccan investors in more than 20 countries," the minister said. Meetings are regularly organized on the occasion of ministerial trips, as recently in Japan and Korea.
