Morocco Unveils Housing Assistance Program for Expats in Spain

Moroccans residing in Spain participated on Saturday in Madrid in an information session on the new housing assistance program initiated by the Moroccan government for first-time buyers residing in Morocco or abroad.

The session took place as part of the "Al Omrane Expo Moroccans of the World" traveling international exhibition which is taking place from November 24 to 26. It was recalled on this occasion that the housing assistance program, in accordance with the vision of King Mohammed VI, aims to "renew the approach to home ownership assistance and support the purchasing power of households, through direct financial assistance to the buyer".

"This meeting with representatives and members of the Moroccan community in Spain is an opportunity to explain the conditions and criteria to be met in order to be able to benefit from this program, whether to acquire housing in Morocco or to invest in the sector," said Youssef El Houssni, Secretary General of the Ministry of National Land Use Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy, to MAP. The amount of the aid is set at 100,000 dirhams for the acquisition of a dwelling whose selling price is less than or equal to 300,000 dirhams, and 70,000 dirhams for a dwelling with a value between 300,000 and 700,000 dirhams, specifies El Houssni.

This meeting with Moroccans in Spain and especially in Madrid is also an opportunity to present them with the new platform that will allow them to "access online more than 26,000 public sale products of the Group throughout the national territory," said Housni El Ghazaoui, the chairman of the board of directors of the Al Omrane Group. For his part, Kamal Arifi, Consul General of Morocco in Madrid, reviewed the measures taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to improve services to the Moroccan community abroad, including the digitalization of services.
