Morocco Unveils High-Tech ’Smart Vaccination Center’ in Casablanca to Boost COVID-19 Immunization

In terms of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, Morocco continues to innovate. It has just opened its first digitized vaccination center, the "smart vaccination center". A strategy to boost the ongoing vaccination campaign in order to quickly reach collective immunity.
This center, the first of its kind in Morocco, is located in the Errahma district of Casablanca. The idea is to vaccinate 3,000 to 4,000 people per day. By launching this new program, the Ministry of Health intends to follow citizens throughout the vaccination circuit. And since the "smart vaccination center" also allows disease screening, the data collected will make it possible to have the number of people tested, vaccinated and treated in the center, reports africanews.com.
Mohamed Jalal Benchekroune, the provincial delegate of the Ministry of Health in Nouaceur, specified that this project remains a good initiative for the Errahma district which records a high demand. With the expansion of vaccination to people aged 20 and over, the "Smart Vaccination Center" which covers 2,000 square meters, will make it possible to accelerate the pace and meet all the demands.
Mohamed Loughzel, a vaccination officer at the center, explained that "the main innovation in the Hay Rahma vaccination center is the digitization of the patient circuit through the implementation of a complex information system integrated into the vaccination center itself.
He points out that PCs, tablets, QR code scanners at the entrance and exit are used at each stage of the patient. "In fact, there are really a lot of sensors in place and this is what allows to streamline and overcome certain amounts of data to have a better customer experience feedback," he said.
He adds that thanks to its digital sensors, the "smart vaccination center" also allows the control of the cold chain of vaccines as well as the management and analysis of medical, environmental and logistical data.
