Morocco Unveils Comprehensive Security Plan for Eid al-Adha and Elections Amid COVID-19

In this context of the Covid-19 pandemic, Morocco is determined to secure its territory during Eid al-Adha and the electoral deadlines. In this sense, the services of the Ministry of the Interior, the national police, civil protection, the Royal Gendarmerie and the auxiliary forces have developed a comprehensive plan.

In order to secure Morocco in these times of Covid-19, the Director General of the DGSN-DGST pole, Abdellatif Hammouchi has put in place a comprehensive plan, reports Al Ahdath Al Maghribia. A necessary plan, as hundreds of thousands of Moroccans will be moving between the cities of the kingdom over a short period, 1.5 million Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) will be returning to the country, more than 750,000 vehicles will be circulating throughout the country, in addition to thousands of tourists.
The plan aims to strengthen the presence of law enforcement in public spaces. Several measures have been taken at the level of crossing points, customs, checkpoints as well as the reduction of vacation periods for human resources. The security system around hotels, theaters and tourist complexes is being strengthened. The security forces ensure compliance with the provisions of the Highway Code. Not to mention the daily patrols, day and night, on the beaches and in the forests and entertainment centers.
