Morocco Unveils Ambitious Football Reforms to Boost National Teams

The President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, announced a series of reforms in terms of sports infrastructure and training of players and coaches in order to raise the level of the national teams, all categories combined.
In a recent statement to the press, Fouzi Lekjaa stressed the importance of having a pool of young talents, indicating that a system will soon be put in place to monitor the progress of all young players registered in the national teams. The President of the Moroccan Football Federation also announced the creation in June of a public limited company that will be responsible for managing the training centers and high-level academies.
This strategy aims to develop talent scouting in all regions of the kingdom and to create an effective dynamic between the training centers and the professional clubs, explained Lekjaa, adding that particular emphasis will also be placed on the training of coaches according to age categories.
Lekjaa also stated that these reforms aim to raise the level of all the national teams and to restore the image of Moroccan football, noting that the ultimate goal is to build a strong national team capable of winning titles at the global level, starting with the futsal Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Morocco next April.
