Morocco to Unveil First Domestically Produced Military Vehicle at Industry Event
Things are taking shape for the release of the first 100% Moroccan armored vehicle destined for the Royal Armed Forces (FAR). Appointment at the 5th edition of the Industry Meeting Days.
In a message posted on Twitter, Youssef Mandour, CEO of FAR Group AFRICA, the first Moroccan company specialized in the defense industry, announced that he will unveil the ’African Lion’, the first military vehicle manufactured in Morocco, during the 5th edition of the Industry Meeting Days. "The event is scheduled for April 28 and 29, 2023, at the Hilton Haouara Hotel in Tangier, and will focus on the theme of ’industrial investment, driver of economic growth and employment’," he specified.
The manufacturer has not, for the time being, provided details on the vehicle. According to sources, it is a multi-mission truck, an MMV 4x4, a "huge and impressive vehicle" intended for the Royal Armed Forces (FAR).
