Morocco U23 Kicks Off AFCON Campaign Against Guinea with Olympic Dreams

The Moroccan under-23 national team is preparing to start its journey at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) this Saturday in Rabat. Facing it, a first confrontation with Guinea, with a ticket for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and a possible African title in sight.
Led by key players such as Bilal El Khannouss, Abde Ezzalzouli and Chadi Riad, the Atlas Cubs will compete not only for the African title, awarded on July 8, but also for one of the three qualifying places for the Olympics, awarded by CAF. The match will take place at the Prince Moulay Abdellah sports complex in Rabat, where many Moroccan supporters will be present to encourage their team.
The Moroccan team has, according to coach Issame Charaï, well prepared these confrontations, chaining preparation camps and friendly matches. The recent victories against Mauritania (4-1) and Zambia (3-1) have boosted the confidence of the group, especially in attack, although the coach admits that there is still work to be done in defense.
Morocco’s next matches will be on June 27 against Ghana, then on June 30 against Congo.
