Morocco U23 Faces Guinea in AFCON Opener: Key Match Preview

The Moroccan U23 team is preparing to face Guinea this Saturday at 9 pm at the Moulay Abdellah sports complex, for its first match of the U23 Africa Cup of Nations.
After several weeks of preparation, Issam Charaï’s players feel ready for the tournament and intend to win their opening match against the Sily national. But the challenge will be great, as the Guineans have a recognized offensive at the African level, particularly with Ousmane Camara.
Charaï, the U23 national coach, took advantage of the friendly matches and training camps to correct the flaws in his team, especially in defense. It is important, he recalled, to make up for these shortcomings against Guinea, whose attack has very good players. "We know this Guinean team quite well. It is a strong team with good dual-national players, who play all over Europe," he said.
This U23 Africa Cup of Nations is a major test for several hopes of the national football, aspiring to join the A team. Players like Abdessamad Ezzalzouli and Bilal El Khanouss have already proven themselves in the A selection during the World Cup in Qatar. In addition, Amir Richardson, midfielder of Le Havre AC, is one of the Lionceaux to watch closely.
"We have well prepared our players for the CAN... everyone is ready to start the competition," the coach assured.
The match will be broadcast live at 9 pm (Moroccan time) on the Arryadia channel.
