Morocco Travel Costs Surge for Eid Al-Adha as COVID-19 Restrictions Impact Transport

After restarting their activities that were on hold due to the coronavirus, carriers have resumed with restrictive measures that no longer allow them to have significant profits. Reduced at the start to half and then 75% of their total capacity, the carriers have consequently increased the prices of transport.

This dream of getting some fresh air and seeing their close families, after more than three months of confinement with their children, is now an illusion.

For the same daily, the State must intervene so that the carriers do not take advantage of the users to replenish their coffers, since the vast majority of travelers work in the liberal sector, largely affected by the repercussions of the health crisis.

To meet the demand during this health crisis period, the ministry has asked its external services to ensure the mobilization of as many vehicles as possible. It even encouraged tourist transport companies and international transport companies to contribute to this operation by offering a public service open to everyone.
