Morocco’s Transport Minister Inspects Road Upgrades in Driouch Province

The Minister of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water, accompanied by the Governor of the Province of Driouch, went to observe the progress of road projects whose work has been underway for several months.
Abdelkader Amara and Mohamed Rochdy, among other socio-economically impactful projects, visited the realignment project in Sefsaf Bibi, over about 3 km, which is part of the upgrading of the RN2, 51 km long. The work, which is underway with a 50% execution rate, is scheduled to last 6 months for a total cost of 9 million dirhams.
As for the upgrading work, they consist, according to the data from the ministry, of widening and strengthening the road over 20 km, between Kassita and Midar. The work, which is just beginning, will last 12 months for a total cost of around 75 million dirhams. As for the reinforcement of the road over 28 km, between Driouch and Laaroui, the work has been completed and cost 42 million dirhams.
The minister also visited and launched projects in the province of Nador before going to Driouch. These numerous road projects are aimed at promoting fluidity and improving road safety, said the minister, before adding that these are "projects that have required significant investments and are part of the efforts made to support the major structural projects, completed or underway, in the Eastern region."
