Morocco’s Tourism Boom: 11.6 Million Visitors Drive 67 Billion Dirham Revenue Surge

Moroccan tourism continues its growth momentum. This is evidenced by the number of tourists welcomed and the travel revenues generated during the first seven months of 2025.
"At the end of July, with the welcome of 11.6 million tourists, up 16% compared to 2024, tourism revenue in foreign currency reached 67 billion dirhams. This represents an increase of 13% compared to the same period in 2024, or a gain of 7.5 billion dirhams," indicates the Ministry of Tourism in a press release. In July alone, tourism revenue reached 13 billion dirhams, a significant growth of 26% compared to July 2024. In total, 2.7 million visitors, including 1.8 million Moroccans living abroad (MRE), arrived in the kingdom in July.
For Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, this growth in revenue reflects the increasing economic impact of the tourism sector. "The increase in tourist arrivals and investments in tourism products strengthens Morocco’s position as a high value-added destination. We will continue our efforts to maintain this momentum," she promised.
This performance confirms the sustained growth in tourist arrivals and the added value of the sector already noted by the Directorate of Studies and Financial Forecasts (DEPF). According to the latter, the Moroccan tourism sector recorded an added value increase of 9.7% in the first quarter, compared to 3.2% in the same period the previous year. In addition, hotel demand is following a similar upward trend, with overnight stays in classified establishments having increased by 13% at the end of June, mainly driven by foreign customers (+16%).
