Morocco Tightens Driver’s License and Vehicle Registration Renewal Rules

Renewals of the driver’s license and the registration certificate must no longer exceed three months after expiration.
This is an announcement from the Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water in accordance with the regulatory provisions that set the validity period of these supports at 10 years and the provisions of Articles 38 and 58 of Law 116-14 amending and supplementing Law 52-05 on the Highway Code.
The driver’s license and registration certificate supports issued before October 1, 2010, the date of entry into force of the Highway Code, in this regard, will complete the ten years on September 20, 2020. They will therefore remain valid until December 31, 2020. It should be noted that approximately 910,000 driver’s license and registration certificate documents need to be renewed from October 1, 2020.
In order to comply with the health safety instructions, as part of the fight against the spread of the coronavirus, the persons concerned must submit their renewal application through the "Narsa Khadamat" electronic portal. They must start submitting their application from Monday, October 5, 2020. Following this, the registration receipt inherent to this operation must be downloaded and sent with the required documents by mail, according to the recommendations of the vehicle registration center of their place of residence.
