Morocco Thwarts 3 Illegal Migration Attempts to Canary Islands, 93 Intercepted

The local authorities and security services of Tarfaya have succeeded in foiling three attempts at illegal migration to the Canary Islands in the last 24 hours.
According to the authorities, a boat was intercepted on the beach of Amgriou, in the province of Tarfaya, reports the MAP. The boat was carrying 38 candidates for illegal emigration, all Moroccan citizens. Among them, two women.
Similarly, an attempt at illegal migration was also thwarted on the Naila beach in Tarfaya, involving 17 sub-Saharan Africans, and another on the beach of Tarfaya involving 38 sub-Saharan Africans including 09 women and 04 children, it is specified.
The security services have stepped up control operations against attempts at irregular emigration in the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region in recent days. These operations resulted in the arrest of several candidates and the rescue of drifting boats.
