Morocco Thwarts Nearly 74,000 Illegal Migration Attempts in 2019, Dismantles 208 Trafficking Networks

The fight against illegal immigration led by Morocco has made it possible to thwart around 73,973 attempts at irregular migration in 2019. In the same year, 208 trafficking networks were dismantled, according to the Ministry of the Interior.
Morocco has given itself the means to relentlessly fight against irregular migration. In 2019, the kingdom made great efforts in dismantling migrant trafficking networks and aborting attempts at irregular migration.
The rescue services also provided assistance to victims and vulnerable people, and saved from drowning at sea 19,554 candidates for clandestine migration, according to the MAP.
According to the same source, Morocco assumes "its full responsibility in the field of solidarity migration management and works with its partners for the concrete anchoring of the principle of shared responsibility".
