Morocco Tests High-Speed Rail to Marrakech Ahead of Global Congress

The high-speed line (LGV) leading to Marrakech is not yet operational, but a TGV has been seen at the station in the ochre city. For what reason?
This test is part of the preparations for the 11th edition of the World High-Speed Rail Congress, which will be held in Marrakech between March 7 and 10, says a press release from the office.
The international meeting, which will be held under the theme "High-speed compatible with our planet", will be attended by more than 1,500 people, including all the actors, specialists and researchers of the High-Speed Train, the note specifies.
Recently, Morocco has launched studies for the extension of the rail network connecting Kenitra to Marrakech. 450 km long, this line will connect several major cities and develop the kingdom’s rail network. The studies, entrusted to the French company Egis, should be finalized soon.
More specifically, the project is composed of three lots: Kenitra-Ain Sebaa, 150 km long (lot 1), Ain Sebaa-Nouaceur, 130 km long (lot 2) and Nouaceur-Marrakech, 212 km long (lot 3).
