Morocco: Teacher Arrested for Alleged Sexual Abuse of Students Near El Hajeb

The arrest of this French teacher serving in a school located in the commune of Bourzouine near El Hajeb took place on April 10, reports Al Massae. It followed the complaints that the victims’ families had filed against this married man with two children with the El Hajeb gendarmerie. Some students had confided to their parents that they had been victims of sexual abuse by their teacher.
After his arrest, the accused was questioned and then brought before the investigating judge near the Meknes Court of Appeal. The latter ordered his placement in pre-trial detention in the Toulal II prison on April 12. The date of the first in-depth investigation hearing of the teacher will be May 24.
