Morocco Stuns Belgium 2-0, Casting Doubt on ’Golden Generation’ at World Cup

Morocco defeated Belgium (2-0) this Sunday, November 27, 2022 and is thus getting closer to the round of 16 of the World Cup. A victory hailed by Belgian internet users who have also been very critical of the Red Devils.
"Congratulations to the Moroccans and shame on these pseudo-players who are taking the plane back to Belgium directly!" writes a Belgian internet user. Another internet user is very acerbic towards the Red Devils: "This so-called golden generation did not end today. It ended in 2018. The opportunity was missed at that time. Since then, it has been declining. They are just average. We can’t expect any results with players at the end of their careers (who play in second-tier clubs). Is what is happening today really a surprise? (after the huge stroke of luck against Canada)".
"The mayonnaise is no longer setting... The Belgians have completely different games than in their clubs and it’s not working anymore," notes a football fan. Another fan suggests moving on: "It remains exceptional for a country of 11 million inhabitants to have had such a generation. But it’s time to move on." Pessimism is now gaining some hearts. Belgium will have to beat Croatia on Thursday to secure their ticket to the round of 16.
