Morocco Stuns Belgium 2-0 in World Cup Upset, Edges Closer to Round of 16

L’Équipe celebrates the victory of the Atlas Lions over the Red Devils at the end of the Morocco-Belgium (2-0) match counting for the 2nd round of Group F of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
"2022 World Cup/Belgium 0 Morocco 2: the Aces of the Atlas". This is the headline plastered on the front page of the French newspaper L’Équipe, which applauds in its own way the victory of Morocco against Belgium on Sunday, November 27. "By dominating Belgium, the team of Walid Regragui took a big step towards the round of 16. They had not won a World Cup match since the 1998 edition," writes the author of the article.
In addition to the French press, Arab newspapers and Arab news sites such as Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, Al-Arabiya.net, also celebrated Morocco’s victory. "The Lions of Morocco overturn the Belgian devils with a historic double," headlined the newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, which praised the performances of Walid Regragui’s protégés. "The Moroccan national team excels and wins a historic victory over Belgium," Al-Arabiya.net also wrote. According to the site, the Atlas Lions showed greater offensive audacity against the second-ranked nation in the FIFA ranking.
