Morocco’s Coach Expresses Cautious Optimism After World Cup Victory Over Belgium

Walid Regragui says he is satisfied with the performance of his players in the match between Morocco and Belgium for the 2nd round of Group F of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. However, he expresses some concerns.
"I am satisfied. We know where we are going. The problem is that in this kind of competition, between putting on a show and achieving our goals, we have made our choice. We have a cohesive team block, so it’s hard to move us. Everyone is working. After with the quality players we have, we know that at any moment we can do something great. This is the prerogative of the great teams. We don’t say we’re a great team, but I’ve always repeated: it will be difficult to beat us in this World Cup," said the Atlas Lions coach to beIN sport.
Walid Regragui did not fail to thank the Moroccan supporters for the 100% Moroccan crazy atmosphere created at the Al-Thumama stadium on Sunday. "I always said it, those who don’t know Wydad and Raja, coming to win in Casablanca, it’s complicated. They all came. They love their country. They helped us. I think without them, we wouldn’t have been able to achieve this performance."
After the euphoria, it’s time for the harsh reality of managing the injuries of some players. "Now the problem we’re going to have is managing injuries. We have a lot of injured players and will that allow us to get through the next round?" wondered the coach of the Moroccan national team.
