Morocco Star Achraf Hakimi Doubtful for Africa Cup of Nations After Foot Injury

An absence that could be very damaging to the Moroccan national football team. Achraf Hakimi has suffered a metatarsal fracture, his club Borussia Dortmund (BVB) has just announced.
This injury occurred last Saturday during the match between Dortmund and VfL Wolfsburg and should therefore keep him off the pitch until the end of the season. The Moroccan could even miss the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco, of which he is nevertheless one of the pillars and one of the sure values in Hervé Renard’s tactical scheme.
"You already know the sad news of my injury. Now I am focusing on my rehabilitation to get back on the pitch as soon as possible. Thank you all for your concern and for your messages of encouragement. A hug," the player simply wrote on his Instagram account, showing him with crutches, receiving messages from many Moroccan and European football stars.
For his rehabilitation, the player has chosen to return to Madrid with his family and his partner Hiba Abouk, with whom he officially announced his relationship last October.
It should be noted that Achraf Hakim was loaned by Real Madrid to Borussia Dortmund until 2020 and he could return to Spain at the end of the agreement, even if the German club said it was willing to make an offer to try to keep him.
