Morocco’s Hakimi Races to Recover from Foot Fracture for Africa Cup of Nations

During the El Partidazo show on the Spanish radio station COPE, Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi said he hopes to be fit in time for the 2019 CAN which will take place in Egypt. Achraf Hakimi had a metatarsal fracture.
Last Saturday, during the match between Borussia Dortmund (where the Moroccan plays) and VfL Wolfsburg, Achrak Hakimi was seriously injured, a metatarsal fracture that should keep him off the pitch until the end of the season. However, he still hopes to be able to play during the 2019 CAN, and therefore be healed in time.
During this radio show, Hakimi said: "I’m sad. It scares me more to think about my return than the operation." Understandable fear after such a fracture. However, he does not hesitate to say, still during El Partidazo: "My intention is to try to play the Africa Cup of Nations."
Note that Achraf Hakimi is currently in Madrid for surgery and rehabilitation. Moreover, the Atlas Lion is on loan to Borussia Dortmund by Real Madrid, with a purchase option. Get well soon!
