Morocco, Spain, and Portugal Prepare Joint Bid for 2030 FIFA World Cup

Aspiring to host the 2030 World Cup, Morocco, Spain and Portugal are working to present a very good project. FIFA will announce the host country’s name in December 2024.
While FIFA has not yet announced the bid submission process, the Morocco-Spain-Portugal trio has taken initiatives to maximize its chances of being awarded the organization of the 2030 FIFA World Cup. Meetings have already been held in Spain and Morocco. The kingdom plans to bring six stadiums located in Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Marrakech, Agadir and Fez to the bid, Spain nine and Portugal three football pitches, reports Atalayar.com. A better proposal than the trio of the United States-Canada-Mexico who will host the 2026 World Cup with 16 stadiums.
Nine matches could take place in the brand new Grand Stade de Casablanca, with a capacity of 93,000 spectators, six in the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium with a capacity of 53,000 spectators in Rabat, five in the Ibn Battouta stadium equipped for 68,000 spectators in Tangier; five in a stadium with a capacity of 70,000 spectators in Marrakech, five others in Agadir and four others in Fez in a stadium that can accommodate 46,000 spectators. In total, Morocco would consider hosting 32 of the 104 matches of the competition, or 31% of the total number of matches to be played. The opening matches will be played in South America (Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay), the rest of the tournament in Morocco, Spain and Portugal.
In addition to the trio’s bid, the quartet of Argentina-Paraguay-Uruguay-Chile also aspires to host the 2030 World Cup. The joint bid of Saudi Arabia-Greece-Egypt seems unlikely. FIFA will have to announce the name of the host country in December 2024 following a vote in which 211 federations will participate. The bid that gets the most votes will officially host the World Cup.
