Morocco Soccer Violence: 70 Face Charges After Stadium Riot in Rabat

70 individuals, including 18 minors, were brought before the investigating judge at the Court of Appeal of Rabat, following the acts of violence and vandalism that took place last Sunday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex, during the match between AS-FAR and Maghreb de Fès (MAS).
These 70 people are being prosecuted for forming a criminal gang, damaging public property, attempted rape, aggravated theft and insulting police officers in the performance of their duties.
The acts of vandalism caused enormous damage to several facilities and some annexes of the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex.
AS-FAR and MAS were severely sanctioned by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and will have to pay fines for the damage caused. During the clashes, nearly a hundred police and auxiliary forces were injured.
