Morocco Slips to 47th in FIFA World Rankings, Remains 4th in Africa

Two places lost. The "Atlas Lions" have just lost two places in the FIFA ranking for June, unveiled on Thursday, June 13, 2019. Morocco is now in 47th place in the world.
At the African level, the Moroccan national football team takes 4th place and ranks behind Senegal (22nd and 1515 points), Tunisia (25th and 1501 points) and Nigeria (45th and 1433 points). The "Atlas Lions", for their part, have 1427 points on the counter.
In the global top, Belgium is today the best team in the world with 1746 points, followed by France, Brazil, England and Portugal. Anguilla, Bahamas and Saint-Martin bring up the rear with 857, 855 and 839 points respectively.
Morocco must face Zambia in a friendly match on Sunday, June 16, 2019, before tackling the Africa Cup of Nations, which is due to begin in a few days in Egypt. Thus, the national team will have to fight hard to overcome South Africa, Côte d’Ivoire and Namibia.
It should be noted that upon Hervé Renard’s arrival in February 2016, Morocco was ranked 80th in the world ranking, which is still 33 places better.
