Morocco Slashes Prices on 126 Medicines, Including Generics and Biosimilars

A new decision on the price reduction of more than a hundred medicines, taken jointly by the Ministry of Health and pharmaceutical operators, has just been published in the Official Bulletin.
The initiative, which affected 126 medicines, made it possible to make reductions on the Retail Selling Prices (PPV), up to one hundred dirhams. The complete list is available in the latest issue of the Official Bulletin.
The price revision, signed by Khalid Ait Taleb, particularly concerns generics, originals and biosimilars.
In 2014, the Ministry of Health carried out one of the largest revisions on the PPV of marketed medicines. The prices of more than 800 medicines were revised downwards, creating divergent opinions among pharmaceutical industrialists.
