Morocco Slashes Prices on Key Vaccines and Medications, Including Hepatitis and HPV

The Ministry of Health has published, in the latest Official Bulletin number 6854 of February 6, 2020, a new list of medicines and vaccines whose prices will decrease.
It mainly concerns vaccines against hepatitis A, hepatitis B, rotavirus or even the flu... Among the treatments that will see a significant drop, there is Gadoviste 1 mm ⁰/ ml Injectable solution vial of 15 ml, whose price will drop from 1344.00 dirhams to 999.00 dirhams. The dose of AVAXIM 160 U, which is a vaccine against hepatitis A in children, is now sold at 286 dirhams, instead of 306 dirhams.
The human papillomavirus vaccine, Cervarix, is now offered at a price of 384 dirhams instead of 411 dirhams. Vaxigrip, which is a vaccine administered against seasonal flu, will now be sold at 68 dirhams instead of 72.80 dirhams.
This decision by the Ministry of Health to reduce the prices of these vaccines is part of the implementation of the national pharmaceutical policy. It aims to facilitate citizens’ access to medicines and reduce the expenses of medical coverage, it is said.
