Morocco Shuts 130 Schools as Covid-19 Cases Surge Among Students

From January 10 to 15, the number of Covid-19 cases in Moroccan schools has skyrocketed, leading to the closure of 130 schools, including 24 under foreign missions.
According to the latest figures published by the Ministry of Health, 4,870 positive Covid-19 cases were recorded during this period. These cases stood at 2,596 during the week of January 4 to 10.
By region, Casablanca remains in the lead with 1,641 cases of contamination and 35 schools closed, followed by Rabat-Salé-Kénitra with 1,000 cases and 56 schools closed.
