Morocco Sets September 7 for New School Year, Teachers to Return Earlier

Moroccan students will resume school on September 7, the Ministry of National Education has just announced.
In a press release, the Ministry of Education announced the resumption of classes for preschool, the three cycles of education (primary, secondary college and qualifying secondary) and the Brevet de Technicien Supérieur (BTS) preparation classes. As for the classes dedicated to students in non-formal education, they will start on October 5.
Regarding the teaching staff, all grades combined, they will join their post no later than September 2. As for the period from September 1 to 5, it will be devoted to the completion of the various technical aspects related to the school start, to ensure the good conditions for the start of classes in the various educational establishments, under the supervision of the educational administration, with the participation of the teaching staff.
Furthermore, the first classes, scheduled from September 7 to October 3, will be devoted to the diagnosis and assessment of students’ achievements, pending the start of support classes. In the meantime, a learning assessment will have to be made during the confinement period.
It will make it possible to consolidate the students’ achievements through the programming of support courses for interested students, specifies the same ministry. For the record, the principle of rotation will be adopted on the basis of 6 to 7 weeks of classes, followed by a week of vacation.
