Morocco Sets 2021 Baccalaureate Exam Dates for June 8-12

The Ministry of National Education has announced that the national unified baccalaureate exam for the 2020-2021 school year will be held from June 8 to 12. The same press release states that the regional unified exam (1st year baccalaureate) will take place from May 27 to June 1.

The exams for the scientific, technical and vocational branches of the national exam are scheduled between June 8 and 10, while the literary and original education streams will take place on June 11 and 12. As for the regional exam, the candidates in the scientific, technical and vocational pool will take the exams on May 31 and June 1, while the exams for the humanities and original education will be held on June 3 and 4.

The regional exam for independent candidates will be held on May 27 and 28. As for the standardized regional exam for the middle school cycle, it is scheduled for June 18 and 19, while the provincial exam for the primary school certificate (6th grade) will be organized on June 22. The exam dates are subject to change depending on the development of the epidemiological situation in the country, the ministry warns, noting that the conditions and arrangements for the exams will be set by the competent authorities "in the coming weeks and months".

Due to the low rate of progress in the completion of the programs, the ministry has decided to adopt updated reference frameworks in the different cycles, as established by the General Inspectorate of Educational Affairs. For the supervisory authority, the aim is to ensure equal opportunities for all candidates, especially since the teaching methods and the pace of program execution differ due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The new reference frameworks will be published at the beginning of May and can be consulted on the website men.gov.ma and on all the different media used for this purpose.
