Morocco Seeks Friendly Match with Algeria Ahead of 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers

Morocco will face Algeria in a friendly match by the end of next year, in preparation for the official matches counting towards the qualification for the 2021 CAN Cameroon.
The initiative comes from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). According to the current rumor, the Moroccan federation would have solicited its Algerian counterpart for the scheduling of a friendly match at the end of 2020, reports lionsdelatlas.ma.
The same media specifies that the FRMF anticipates the qualification of the national team by seeking quality opponents for its preparation. It would therefore have solicited some African federations including Algeria and Tunisia.
On the side of the Moroccan national team, Bosnian coach Vahid Halilhodzic approves the idea of the national body. He would consider it preferable to organize a friendly match against the African Champions to prepare for his future CAN, supports the same source.
The same goes for the coach of the African champions, Djamel Belmadi, who would not be against the idea of facing the Lions to prepare the defense of his title. However, given the large number of official matches awaiting the two teams, this match should be scheduled at the end of the year.
