Morocco Seeks First-Ever Win Against Brazil in Friendly Match

Moroccan supporters are eagerly awaiting the friendly match between Brazil, five-time world champion, and Morocco, semi-finalist of the last World Cup. They hope that their national team will succeed in defeating the Seleção this time.
The last match between Morocco and Brazil dates back to June 18, 1998 during the World Cup in France, where Brazil had won the group stage match (3-0). Before this confrontation, the two teams had met in a friendly match in Belém on October 9, 1997, where the Brazilians had scored two goals while the Moroccans remained silent. On March 25, this will be their third historic confrontation, and Morocco hopes to take its revenge on Brazil.
According to some experts, the Moroccan team has a good chance of winning. It is made up of great players playing in Europe, coveted by the best clubs in the world. The Atlas Lions performed better than Brazil in the last World Cup, and are now among the four best teams in the world. They are therefore determined to defend their status with honor.
The confrontation between Morocco and Brazil promises to be intense. The Brazilians are looking to consolidate their position as leaders in the FIFA ranking, while the Atlas Lions want to take their revenge on their defeat against the Brazilians in their last meeting in 1998.
According to Walid Regragui, facing high-level teams is a way for his team to continue to progress. He said in a press conference: "We are going to play against Brazil, the country of football and which has the best players in the world. If you want to move forward, you have to face the best. I asked the President of the Federation to schedule friendly matches against big teams to continue our progress."
The match therefore promises to be a real challenge for the two teams, as Regragui pointed out: "The objective of this kind of match is to continue to progress to move forward."
