Morocco Seeks Brahim Diaz as World Cup Replacement for Injured Amine Harit

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) would have contacted Brahim Diaz to convince him to replace Amine Harit, injured, at the World Cup in Qatar. But the proposal does not seem to excite the Hispano-Moroccan who wants to remain a Spanish international.
Morocco is looking for a replacement for Amine Harit, ruled out of the 2022 World Cup due to a left knee ligament injury. The Moroccan striker of Olympique de Marseille was injured on Sunday during the match against Monaco. The Royal Moroccan Football Federation is trying to convince Brahim Díaz to join the Atlas Lions for the World Cup, in replacement of the latter.
But the Milan player, on loan from Real Madrid, who has scored four goals and provided one assist in 13 Serie A matches, does not seem interested in Morocco’s proposal. His dream is to play for Spain, believes Marca, also specifying that joining the Moroccan team five days before the start of the World Cup would be an impossible mission.
Brahim Diaz has been a Spanish under-21 international and made his senior debut in the friendly match against Lithuania (4-0) as part of the preparations for Euro 2020. He even scored the second goal in that game. His goal is to participate in Euro 2024 and the 2026 World Cup with Spain.
Morocco’s interest in Brahim Diaz is not new. The FRMF had already tried to convince the player to participate in the 2018 World Cup. Without success.
