Morocco Salvages 2-2 Draw Against Gabon in Africa Cup of Nations Group Stage

The Moroccan national football team snatched a 2-2 draw against the Gabonese team on Tuesday evening during the 3rd round of the group stage of the CAN Cameroon 2021.
The Atlas Lions had many difficulties and made mistakes, especially in the first half, mistakes that will have to be corrected if they want to continue their African adventure.
The Gabonese were the first to open the scoring in the 21st minute through Jim Allevinah following a mistake made by Soufian Chakla. The score will remain unchanged until the end of the 45 regulation minutes.
It was again the entry of Soufian Boufal that allowed the Moroccan attack to create opportunities. However, it will take until the 73rd minute for the Angers SCO player to obtain a penalty, which he will convert. Unfortunately, a mistake by Nayef Aguerd allows the Gabonese to take the lead in the game after an own goal.
Stunned but not defeated, the Moroccan players take advantage of a slight drop in pace of the Gabonese to score two minutes later through a superb free kick from Parisian Achraf Hakimi.
Morocco takes the lead in Group C with 7 points. It is followed by Gabon who finish the first phase with 5 points. The Comoros, for whom it is the first participation in this African competition, could be repechaged.
