Morocco’s Royal Mansour Marrakech Named World’s Best Hotel for 2021

The best hotel in the world in 2021, the Royal Mansour Marrakech, is in Morocco. The Grand Prix Villégiature was awarded to Jean-Claude Messant, general manager of the hotel, during a ceremony in the salons of the Azerbaijani embassy’s private mansion, facing the Eiffel Tower.
"I am very proud to have received on behalf of the Royal Mansour but also on behalf of the Kingdom of Morocco this Villégiature Award which rewards the best hotel in the world for the year 2021. It is a team effort," said the general manager of the Royal Mansour Marrakech to MAP. He dedicates this "very beautiful award" to all Moroccans and to all the people who helped him realize this dream.
The Royal Mansour Marrakech was competing with the Signiel Seoul hotel (South Korea), the Inter-Continental Lyon-Hôtel Dieu (France), the Sofitel Rome Villa Borghèse (Italy) and the Sofitel Legend Santa Clara Cartagena (Colombia) for this award. The hotel in the ochre city was also nominated for two other Villégiature Awards: the Award for the Best Hotel Suite, and the Award for the Best Hotel Pool. As for the Casablanca hotel, it was nominated for two Awards: that of the Best Hotel Terrace and that of the Best Charming Hotel.
Since 2003, the Villégiature Awards have rewarded the most beautiful hotels in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. A jury of about twenty journalists from the international press covering the five continents is in charge.
