Morocco to Review Trade Agreement with Israel in Government Council Meeting

The government will meet this Thursday in a council during which several draft decrees as well as the cooperation agreement on trade and investment signed between Morocco and Israel will be examined.

The executive will begin its work with presentations on the situation of Morocco’s exports during the years 2021 and 2022. They will be presented by the Ministers of Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries, Economy and Finance, and Industry and Trade, according to a press release from the Prime Minister’s Department.

Then, the council will proceed to the examination of the trade and investment partnership signed between Morocco and Israel. This agreement aims to bring the annual volume of trade between the two countries to $500 million, compared to $130 million currently, the note points out.

The objective is also to create qualified industrial zones in the aerospace, automotive, agri-food, textile and pharmaceutical sectors.

Subsequently, the Council will examine three decrees, two of which relate to social protection, as well as a third concerning the filing of declarations relating to fees owed to municipalities.
