Morocco Revamps Teacher Recruitment Process with Two-Year Training Program

The Ministry of National Education has published the different stages of the recruitment competition from the announcement of its organization to the publication of the final results.
The Ministry of Education organized a teacher recruitment competition last December, the objective of which is to select the best profiles capable of following the qualifying training to become a teacher in Moroccan public schools.
The report mentions that after their recruitment, the teachers will undergo training for two school years. It is organized in the Regional Centers for Education and Training Professions (CRMEF) and in schools as part of partial internships.
Among other details, the report presents certain elements to be remembered for the training of these teachers. This includes an increase in the number of positions for the "Amazigh language" specialty. From 200 in 2021, it increases to 400 this year. There is also the opening for the first time of positions for two specialties: "economics and management" on the one hand and "technology" on the other.
Another novelty revealed by the report is the average age of all the candidates, which is 24.5 years for the candidates and 25.3 years for the candidates. At the primary level, the candidates represent 71.8% and the candidates 28.2%. At the secondary level, these rates are respectively 50.6% and 49.4%.
The candidates who were able to validate the first year of training are sent to their place of work for a full-time internship in a class management situation. They will be supervised by the school principal, by an educational inspector and will also benefit from educational supervision as well as advice from an experienced teacher appointed by the school principal.
