Morocco remains at the green level regarding the epidemiological situation related to Covid-19. But the country is still disrupted by a slight increase in cases of contamination this week.
On his LinkedIn account, the coordinator of the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations, Mouad Mrabet, provided an update on the situation after 8 consecutive weeks of continuous decline. The number of weekly cases has slightly increased, but the situation is under control, he said, specifying that the positivity rate remains generally stable at 1% at the end of the last week.
Regarding severe Covid-19, Dr. Mrabet noted that the number of new cases remained stable over the last two weeks, with 30 patients admitted to intensive care and intensive care during the week of March 21-27, compared to 34 patients who left the hospital after improvement in their clinical condition.
The weekly number of deaths recorded during the period is the lowest compared to the figures for the same period two years ago, the specialist points out, adding that it is the lowest figure observed during the third phase of the epidemic in Morocco, which began the week of July 20-26, 2020.
As usual, the official has called on citizens to be vigilant, to respect the barrier measures and to get the booster dose of vaccination for the most vulnerable population, in order to preserve the current epidemiological situation.
