From the red level, the epidemiological situation in Morocco has moved, since the week of February 7 to 13, to the "orange" level of vigilance, according to the announcement made by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. The contamination rate with the "Omicron" variant has decreased by 50% nationwide, the Health Department said.
After reaching the peak of contamination due to the Omicron variant, Morocco has moved to an "orange" level of vigilance, according to the biweekly assessment of the epidemiological situation, presented by the coordinator of the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations, Mouad Mrabet. Similarly, the positivity rate of screening tests has dropped from 14.9% to 7% last week, the lowest in six weeks. As for the virus reproduction rate nationwide, it is 0.8, while being less than 1 in all regions of the Kingdom, he noted.
As for admissions to resuscitation and intensive care, they have decreased by 29% in the last two weeks. Regarding the number of deaths recorded during the same week, Mouad Mrabet reported a significant decrease of 18.6%.
