Morocco Reports Sharp Spike with 563 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Reaches 10,907

Coronavirus cases in Morocco are increasing sharply. In the last 24 hours, some 563 new infections have been recorded in the kingdom, bringing the total to 10,907 since the start of the COVID-19 epidemic.
Here are the number of infections by region:
. Casablanca Settat: +99
. Marrakech Safi: +20
. Rabat Salé Kenitra: +112
. Tanger Tetouan Al Hoceima: +146
. Fès Meknes: +14
. Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra: +168
. Beni Mellal-Khénifra: +3
. Souss-Massa: +1
. Guelmim Oued Noun: +1
. 2,223 people are currently under treatment (+500 in the last 24 hours)
. 580,850 tests have been carried out since March (+16,018 in 24 hours)
. Morocco has recorded two deaths for a total of 216.
Note that the sharp increase in cases on Wednesday in northern Morocco follows the discovery of a cluster at the Renault plant located in Tangier. According to the authorities, the situation is under control.
As usual, the Minister of Health calls on Moroccans to respect the rules of hygiene and health safety as well as the preventive measures taken by the Moroccan authorities by showing responsibility.
