Morocco Reports 47 New COVID-19 Deaths, Total Fatalities Rise to 6,589

Some 47 patients died in the last 24 hours from Covid-19 according to figures released by the Minister of Health, bringing the total number of people who have succumbed to the coronavirus since the start of the epidemic in March last year in Morocco to 6,589.
The Greater Casablanca-Settat region recorded 15 deaths, all in Casablanca. It is followed by Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, which has 7 deaths, including 3 in Skhirate-Témara, 2 in Salé, 1 in Kénitra and 1 in Sidi Kacem. The Oriental region announced 6 deaths with 4 in Oujda-Angad, 1 in Nador and 1 in Guercif.
Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima recorded 5 deaths with 2 in Tetouan, 1 in Al Hoceima, 1 in M’Diq-Fnideq and 1 in Ouezzane. Then come Souss-Massa and Guelmim-Oued-Noun. Marrakech reported 2 deaths against 1 in Essaouira while Guelmim alone recorded 3 deaths. In the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region, there were 2 deaths, including 1 in Béni Mellal and 1 in Fquih Ben Salah.
As for Daraa-Tafilalet, Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra and Fès-Meknès, they each recorded 1 death in Tinghir, Laâyoune and Fès respectively.
