Morocco Reports 47 COVID-19 Deaths in 24 Hours as Cases Surge

With the resurgence of new infections, Morocco has been recording many deaths in recent days. Yesterday, the Kingdom recorded 47 deaths, 3 more than the day before.

The number of people who have succumbed to Covid-19 stands at 3,301. Contrary to previous reports, Rabat-Salé-Kénitra has the worst record with 10 deaths in 24 hours, including 3 in Kénitra, 2 in Skhirate-Témara, 2 in Sidi Slimane and 2 in Khémisset.

It is followed by Casablanca-Settat, which has 7 people killed by the coronavirus. While the metropolis reports 6 deaths, El Jadida records 1 death. The Oriental region also has 7 deaths, with 5 in Guercif and 2 in Berkane. In the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region, 5 people died, including 3 in Béni Mellal, 1 in Fquih Ben Salah and 1 in Khénifra.

Two regions, namely Marrakech-Safi and Fès-Meknès, each have 4 deaths. While Marrakech and Youssoufia report 3 and 1 death respectively, Meknès and Taza each record two cases in the Fès-Meknès region. In Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, Covid-19 killed 3 people. M’Diq-Fnideq, Al Hoceima and Larache each saw the death of 1 patient.

As for Souss–Massa, it has two deaths, including 1 in Inezgane-Ait Melloul and 1 in Taroudant. As for Laâyoune - Sakia El Hamra, it recorded 1 death in Smara.
