Morocco Reports 55 New COVID-19 Cases, Bringing Total to 4,120

The number of coronavirus infections in Morocco has reached 4,120 people, according to the count established by the Ministry of Health, up 55 from the previous 24 hours.
According to Mohamed El Youbi, Director of Epidemiology and Disease Control at the Ministry of Health, 1 new death was recorded during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths due to coronavirus in Morocco to 162.
Since the start of the epidemic in the kingdom, the total number of declared and confirmed recoveries stands at 695, for a recovery rate of 16.87%. In a single day, Morocco recorded 102 recoveries, a record since the start of the epidemic.
As for the number of cases excluded after negative analysis results in the laboratory, they were established at 24,301 cases.
Of the 55 new infections, 43 cases were identified through monitoring of the entourage of patients. For the epidemiology official, the entourage of declared cases represents 79% of the total for Monday. This monitoring method remains the most efficient, as it allows the identification of the most cases per day, he adds.
