A symbolic event for the Kingdom, marking the gradual resumption of Moroccan tourism and the reopening of the national airspace to international flights, in a context of health crisis. The Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) was on hand for its "Welcome back" operation.

It is an exceptional day for the professionals of the Moroccan tourist chain. Long inactive due to the health situation, they grandly welcomed this date of reopening of the borders.

Arrived in Marrakech, Moroccans of the world, as well as some international stars, were received by a team composed of the general manager of the ONMT, Adel El Fakir, as well as the managers of the National Confederation of Tourism (CNT) and the Regional Tourism Council (CRT) of Marrakech-Safi, explains the Office in a press release.

" Morocco is mobilized to welcome its guests well "

To combine the useful with the pleasant, the ONMT wanted to mark this "Welcome Back" operation in a special way, by involving all the trades of the sector.

Thus, hotel concierges, receptionists, travel agents, housekeepers... the trades of the entire tourist value chain responded present to this major event, in uniform, to welcome the first visitors to the Kingdom.

At the same time, a guard of honor on a red carpet was organized, on disembarking from the plane with all these actors who are on the front line in the service of tourists throughout their stay. At the end of this guard of honor, a carved wooden door was carefully placed to symbolize their entry into the Kingdom.

"We are particularly pleased to be able to welcome travelers again who come to visit our beautiful country. This ceremony is our way of symbolically celebrating the culmination of all the efforts made by the national authorities and tourism stakeholders for the relaunch and revitalization of the tourism sector," said Mr. El Fakir. "For us, this ceremony also confirms that Morocco is ready to welcome its visitors under the best conditions. The entire sector in all its components is mobilized," he will add.
