Morocco Reopens Borders: French Embassy Outlines Travel Options for Nationals

As part of the partial reopening of the Moroccan borders, the French Embassy in Morocco has clarified the special flights and boats available for the return of its nationals to France or their arrival in the kingdom.

In a statement published on its website, the embassy reminded them of the new details while urging them to be cautious and comply with the strict health measures imposed by the health authorities.

Some clarifications for the French community, given the current state of our information:

• From France to Morocco: French people located outside Morocco can take these flights and boats to return to Morocco, provided they are residents in Morocco. They must present a PCR test and a serological test dated less than 48 hours at check-in. Children under 11 years old are exempt.

• From Morocco to France: French people located in Morocco, whether residents or not, can take these flights and boats to return to France. No Covid test is required. Details on the need or not, for the French, for an exceptional authorization from the Moroccan provincial authorities, should be known in the next few days.

• For ticket purchases, it is advisable to contact the airlines concerned (Royal Air Maroc and Air Arabia). Details on maritime connections have not yet been announced.

• For any questions, please contact the numbers set up by the Moroccan authorities: Call Center (+212.537.66.33.00) and the Crisis Cell (+212.666.89.11.05, +212.662.01.34.36, +212.537.67.6218), within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad.

The Embassy and Consulates of France in Morocco continue to advise against travel outside Morocco, due to the risk of a resurgence of the pandemic in the world that would lead to a new situation of complete border closure.

Regular air and sea links remain suspended.
