Air France Resumes Special Flights to Morocco with Strict Travel Restrictions

The French airline Air France is resuming its special flights from/to Morocco starting this Monday, August 17 after a suspension of a few days. Several restrictive measures are imposed on travelers before boarding.

In a press release, the French company reminded its customers that its flights to/from Paris-Charles de Gaulle are operational until the end of the state of health emergency in Morocco. According to the same press release, the special flights from Casablanca, Marrakech and Rabat to Paris are reserved for Moroccans residing abroad and foreign nationals residing or not in Morocco.

As for Moroccan students abroad, business people and citizens who need to travel abroad for medical treatment, they must have an exceptional authorization issued by the prefecture of their province.

As for the flights from Paris to Casablanca, Marrakech and Rabat, they are reserved for Moroccans (tourists abroad, students or residents abroad) and their families. Other nationalities of residents in Morocco and their families can also take these flights.

However, the company reminds passengers on all flights to Morocco that they will have to present a negative PCR test and a serological test dated less than 48 hours before boarding with: -a negative IGM and IGG or - a negative IGM and a positive IGG. Only children under 11 years of age are exempt from this health requirement. The company specifies that the wearing of a surgical mask is mandatory from arrival at the airport and on board all Air France aircraft.

In addition, it prohibits the use of general public fabric masks on its flights according to the provisions of Decree 2020-860. However, it invites its passengers to inquire with the competent authorities about the entry and stay conditions in their countries of destination and transit, as well as the local health rules before boarding. They must also plan for several surgical masks for the entire duration of the trip, disposable tissues and bring a bottle of hydroalcoholic gel (<100 ml).
