Air France Launches Repatriation Flights from Morocco Amid Travel Restrictions
Since April 1st, the airline Air France has been organizing repatriation flights for French citizens, European residents, as well as passengers in transit at CDG stranded in Morocco. This operation follows the suspension by the kingdom of air links with France.
"From April 1, 2021, Air France plans to operate repatriation flights from Casablanca, Marrakech and Rabat to Paris subject to the agreement of the Moroccan authorities. Some of our initially scheduled flights will be maintained to allow the repatriation of nationals and/or European residents as well as passengers in transit at CDG," the airline said in a statement, specifying that tickets already booked will be automatically rescheduled on these flights.
Due to the current health restrictions, only the categories of travelers listed in the travel certificate are authorized to enter metropolitan territory, the same source said. Air France reminds that since January 31, 2021, all travelers aged 11 and over wishing to travel to metropolitan France from a country outside the European area, regardless of their nationality, must present a negative PCR test dated less than 72 hours before departure; commit to self-isolate for a period of 7 days once in France and then take a second PCR test at the end of this 7-day period; present mandatory at check-in, "a travel certificate for compelling reasons"; present any justification for the compelling reason for travel, fill out the contact form and wear a surgical mask mandatory upon arrival at the airport and on board all the company’s aircraft.
Pending clarification from the Moroccan authorities, the flights initially scheduled from March 31, 2021 until further notice are canceled, Air France also specifies.
