Morocco Reopens Border Crossing for Stranded European Campers Amid COVID-19 Restrictions

Many European campers stranded in Morocco will be able to return home. The Sebta border crossing was reopened this Saturday, March 21, 2020 in the morning.
The announcement of the exceptional reopening of the Sebta border crossing to allow about a hundred European campers to return home was made in a tweet from the French Embassy in Morocco.
It is a sigh of relief for these campers who were stuck in Morocco since the closure, on March 13, 2020, of the maritime and air borders by the authorities of the kingdom.
The embassy warns that the reopening time cannot be determined, given the evolution of the situation. To fight against smuggling, the "Tarajal" border crossing in Sebta had been closed even before this decision.
The "Barrio Chino" border crossing in Melilia, on the other hand, was only closed on March 12, by decision of the Spanish authorities, in order to fight against the spread of the Coronavirus.
All this also led to the closure of the two "Farhana" and "Beni" crossings in Melilia by the Moroccan authorities.
