Morocco Reopens 10,000 Mosques for Friday Prayers Amid Pandemic Precautions

The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced the resumption of Friday prayer in 10,000 mosques starting this Friday, October 16.
In a statement, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs specified that it will attach great importance to the success of this measure. It also promised to ensure follow-up in collaboration with the competent authorities.
It also demanded compliance with the same health precautions decreed during the reopening of mosques last July.
The Kingdom has some 50,000 mosques, all of which were closed for several months due to the coronavirus pandemic raging in the country. They had been reopened last July but strict conditions had been imposed.
