The Moroccan Ministry of Employment published on Tuesday, April 21, the list of documents required for obtaining and renewing the work permit for foreign employees in Morocco, even during this period of the state of emergency.
In a press release, the Ministry of Employment announced the resumption of its activities. Consequently, applications for renewal of work permits for foreign employees and requests for continued employment of employees who have reached the age limit will be received and processed. This will be the case until May 20, 2020, the expected date for the end of the state of emergency.
For the renewal application for foreign employees, a written request signed by the employer and the employee, addressed to the Employment Directorate, with the employer’s stamp, is required. The application must be accompanied by a copy of the employment contract established between the two parties. The ministry also specifies that the employer can send it directly by email to the address: s.migrants@emploi.gov.ma or by fax to the number: +212 5 37 68 31 86. The approval of the Ministry of Employment will be considered as an implicit extension of the work permit until the lifting of the state of health emergency.
