Morocco to Relaunch Tourism Sector in Second Phase of Reopening, Says Prime Minister

The Head of Government, Saâdeddine El Othmani affirmed, on Tuesday, June 16, before the House of Councillors that tourism is one of the economic sectors that will be relaunched during the second stage of the deconfinement.
This second stage will focus on domestic tourism activities and other professional sectors, announced the Head of Government during the monthly session dedicated to the post-covid-19 period and economic recovery.
According to Saâdeddine El Othmani, the government has committed to supporting this sector "not only in terms of finance, but also in terms of expertise and support". "In this regard, I held a working meeting on Monday with the Minister of Tourism", Nadia Fettah Alaoui, he said.
He also announced that tripartite meetings (government, CGEM and trade unions) will be organized from next week, during which a roadmap on the national economy will be drawn up. "In this regard, I have received 22 memoranda from 27 bodies representing political parties and institutions," he said.
